program

Overall

Our first priority is to establish a strong, healthy connection with you and your child(ren). Healthy relationships provide the essential ingredient for optimal development and academic achievement in all domains. These relationships will be established and maintained by adhering to principles and structures outlined by Loving Guidance, Inc. Our academic program will be layered on top of this foundation through the implementation of Creative Curriculum, a research based, hands-on, developmentally appropriate academic program, which includes STEAM components. Art, music and outdoor play will be an integral part of each classroom every day.

Toddler

7-8 children per room
Approx. 15mos.  –  2 ½ yrs.

As you can imagine our toddler room will be “hopping.” It is in this age group that children begin to work through the dynamics of playing in the same space as other children. Our toddler program will emphasize the development of healthy social-emotional skills. With the help of our teaching team, your child will begin the ever-important journey to pro-social behaviors. Positive social interactions create a firm foundation for healthy relationships and future academic achievement. (back to top)

Preschool

16-20 children per room
2 ½  –  3 ½ yrs.
6:1 ratio

Children in this classroom are beginning to expand on the cognitive and social skills introduced in our toddler room, providing the teachers with an opportunity to challenge children in every developmental domain (social, emotional, cognitive and physical). It is in this classroom that teachers begin to channel all of that energy into effectively managing conflict, learning the foundational skills for reading, math, science, the use of technology and the enjoyment of the arts (STEAM). The curriculum that introduced this exciting material in the toddler room will be expanded upon to meet the rapid increase in interest. Our teachers develop a curriculum that is cognitively challenging and developmentally appropriate which means it is hands-on and fun. (back to top)

Prekindergarten

24-28 children per room
3 ½ - 5 ½ yrs.
8:1 ratio

The year before kindergarten! This is an exciting year for everyone. Children are beginning to settle into more structured learning times with a high level of focus on child-directed exploration. Teachers will introduce new and exciting concepts in all areas of social, emotional, physical and cognitive development. We will continue to add essential tools for pro-social interaction and heighten their awareness of emotional self-regulation for a firm foundation in relationship building. Our focus on reading, math, art, science and technology (STEAM) will be a priority.  Children will have the opportunity to fully engage in the lesson at hand. Teachers will set their sights on kindergarten readiness and preparing your child to be successful in an elementary school setting while they address and incorporate the individual needs of your child. YOUNG 5's

Children per room: 12-16
Age Range: 4 ½ - 6 years
Child-Teacher Ratio: 12:1

This program is designed for those children who meet one or more of the following criteria:

  • Have been in a preschool/prekindergarten classroom for a full year but are not age eligible for kindergarten
  • Are emotionally/cognitively ready for a kindergarten curriculum
  • Need a small class size and teacher:child ratio to support the development needed to be ready for kindergarten

This dynamic, individually designed program tailors a kindergarten curriculum to the very important needs of this group of children.  Whether your child is struggling to develop the skills necessary to be successful in kindergarten, or excelling but cannot attend kindergarten for another year, this classroom will provide what your child needs.

Your child will experience a kindergarten curriculum at a pace that works for him/her with an emphasis on reading, writing, STEAM, and emotional regulation.  We will continue to use our Creative Curriculum for Kindergarten program and incorporate field trips, hands-on experiences and small group learning.
